Hey hey. I’m Teala! The writer of this blog. I think “about me’s” are awkward, but here goes nothin’! My full name is Tealagean Duhamel, no middle name, and you probably can’t pronounce my first name. it is Tee-la-jean. You’d be amazed at some of the attempts of my name I have gotten. I’m from Vancouver, Washington (ya know, basically Portland). Lake Shore Elementary, Thomas Jefferson Middle School, and Columbia River High School graduate.
I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Markus, he is basically the brains behind this operation, and my #1 fan, he believes I can do anything. We met our freshman year of high school in German class, and I was basically in love from that day on…he just didn’t ask me to be his girlfriend until junior year.. but now we have 2 boys, Cooper and Oliver (Coop and Ollie), a 2 year old, and a 3 month old, yeah, I know, we are cray cray. We also have an insane German Shepard Husky mix. We like to be kept on our toes.
The Army tells us what to do and where to live. Currently residing in Lacey, Wa, and happy to be back in the PNW…we were in Kansas before this. As much as I surprisingly miss it, I’d much rather be in the trees and mountains.
I was a competitive dancer for 19 years, and miss it every day. You name it, I’ve probably danced it, besides any kind of ballroom, it’s never too late, right? I danced at studios, then for a nationally recognized high school team, then went on to start my own collegiate team. It’s still in my blood, and I intend to get back to it again.
I have a bachelors’ in Children Studies, and minor in sociology, from Eastern Washington University. #goeags. My dream job after the boys are in school is to be a child life specialist, or own my own dance studio for special needs, and be a personal trainer… I have a lot of dreams, and I will achieve them all.
For now, I’m a confidence building, boy mama, who doesn’t want to lose herself, just because she is a mom. So why the heck am I starting a blog? Its 2020, are blogs even still cool? I want to help you build your confidence! Whether its self-care, fitness, nutrition, or army life. I’m here for you, to serve you, to be your biggest cheerleader. We all have to start somewhere.
